I have not tried to export an edited RX100 clip from iMovie yet. Both MP4 and 60i files are 'converted' (I suppose) to. I can not see any quality difference between the MP4 files and the AVCHD 60i files on the camera or in iMovie on 21.5 iMac. What iMovie will not accept is the AVCHD 60p files.
